本校全英語教學推動中心籌備處(全英中心)與英文系聯合邀約中山大學全英語卓越教學中心執行長李香蘭教授至淡水校園,分享該校在雙語教育深耕多年的實務經驗,現場近五十餘位師生參與,反應熱烈,成果豐碩!
李教授以「打造引人入勝的雙語校園」為題,透過中山大學運作的實例,分享如何以具體行動支持學生的英文學習,激勵學生善用學校資源強化自身聽說讀寫能力,進而與專業學科結合,以英文技能發揮批判思維能力。參與演講的師生高度肯定演講內涵,對全英語課程的實地運作有更深的認識。
會後學生提問踴躍,與講師互動熱絡,並期待全英中心未來能舉辦不同的活動帶給學生更多樣化的學習刺激,規劃多元面向之雙語化訓練講座活動供師生參與,以逐步實踐淡江雙語校園的目標,培植學生國際就業即戰力!

The Tamkang EMI Center and the Department of English extended a joint invitation to Professor Virginia Shen, the Chief Executive Officer of the Center for EMI Teaching Excellence at National Sun Yat-Sen University, to come to Tamkang University and share on the practical experience gained by the national university after years of deeply investing into bilingual education. Over fifty Tamkang faculty and students was in attendance, and their enthusiastic participation led to a highly productive event!
Speaking under the heading of “Building an Engaging Bilingual Campus –Sharing of Strategy Implementation”, and using the actual operations at National Sun Yat-Sen University, Prof. Shen share on how to use actual actions to support students’ English learning, encouraging student how to take advantage of university resources in order enhance their own language skills, whether it was listening, speaking, reading or writing. This can then be combined with the more specialized disciplines, where English skills can be used to express critical analysis and thinking. All in attendance highly affirmed the content of the lecture, and gained a better understanding of the practical operation for EMI courses.
After the lecture, the students were highly interactive with the speaker through their enthusiastic offering of questions, and hopes that the EMI Center can hold different types of events in the future to bring more diverse range of stimulation to the students’ learning. They also hope for a variety of bilingual training lecture events for both the faculty and students, so that the goal of turning Tamkang into a bilingual campus can be gradually realized, and students’ international job seeking abilities and potential can be nurtured!
