The University’s Graduate Institute of European Studies invited Dr. Ralf Joest, a biologist from Arbeitsgemeinschaft Biologischer Umweltschutz im Kreis Soest e.V., to give a lecture on EU environmental protection policies and local practices, including on EU’s sustainable development policies, particularly on the incorporation of biodiversity into common agricultural policies, organic agricultural production, plant protection, animal husbandry, renewable energy and other areas. Dr. Ralf Joest also shared the actual operation and initial results of the EU member states through his own expertise and work experience, which gave the attendees a better understanding of the trend of EU environmental protection and sustainable development policies, and led to a lively Q&A and those in attendance also shared with Dr. Ralf Joest green energy development and environmental protection assessment and other on the major public construction projects in Taiwan in recent years. All came away from the event with very fruitful interactions and exchanges.
